Two quotes can look close on price and be miles apart under your house.
Crawlspace encapsulation estimates in Charleston are notoriously hard to compare. One uses a thicker, reinforced liner and a real warranty. The other cuts corners you'll never see — until something fails. This page shows you exactly what to look for.
A price that looks lower on paper often means a different, lesser system underneath your floors — not a better deal.
Score the estimate you're comparing
Tap Yes or No for each question about the other quote. Your score fills in at the bottom — a quality system should hit all ten.

Why two crawlspace estimates almost never match
We'll be honest about how our own industry works — because an informed homeowner makes a better decision, and we're happy to be compared.
"Vapor barrier" can mean almost anything
A 12-mil unreinforced liner and a 20-mil reinforced liner are both called a "vapor barrier" on paper — but one lasts decades in Charleston's clay and humidity, and one starts failing early. If a quote doesn't state the mil thickness and whether it's reinforced, that's usually on purpose.
A brand name is doing a lot of hiding
"Includes a dehumidifier" tells you nothing about whether it'll still run in year six. A name-brand AprilAire unit with a condensation pump is a different machine — and a different lifespan — than a generic box with no pump and no support.
"Warranty" and "labor warranty" aren't the same
Some warranties cover the material but not the labor to fix it — so if a seam lets go, you're paying a crew to come back. Ask what's covered, for how long, and by whom. We carry the only 25-year workmanship warranty in South Carolina.
What's left out is where the price hides
Dedicated electrical, sealing the foundation without drilling into it, a proper access door, soil prep before the liner goes down — leave any of these off and the number drops. But the job isn't the same job. Cheaper on paper usually means less under your house.
This is the stuff most companies won't put in writing. We will — because when you understand what goes into a real encapsulation, the value speaks for itself.

"They worked to fit me in on a busy day after a storm, gave a detailed assessment, and I had an estimate the same day. Extremely reasonable, and they didn't suggest anything that wasn't necessary."
"Chad came out for my annual inspection, let me know everything looked great, and fixed my dehumidifier monitor in 5 minutes. With your crawlspace you just want peace of mind — these guys help you have that."

These questions are a general guide for comparing crawlspace encapsulation systems.
